Effective date: October 20, 2026
Slash That Debt ("the app") is a personal finance app that helps you track debts, recurring expenses, and a plan to pay them off. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.
The short version: your data stays on your device (and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud account). We don't collect it, we can't see it, and we don't sell or share it. There are no accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking.
Information you enter
The app stores the information you type in, such as debt names, balances, interest rates, minimum payments, due dates, payments, interest charges, and recurring expenses, along with your app settings (theme, reminders, payoff preferences).
- This information is stored only on your device.
- We (the developer) do not collect, receive, or have access to this information.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone.
iCloud Sync (optional)
If you turn on iCloud Sync (a Pro feature), your data is stored in your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit so it can sync across your devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
- This data is protected by Apple and is accessible only to you. The developer cannot access it.
- Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- You can turn iCloud Sync off at any time in the app's Settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details, name, or Apple Account information. The app checks with the App Store on your device to confirm which plan you have.
Notifications
If you turn on due-date reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. They are created on your device and are not sent through any server.
Face ID, Touch ID, and Passcode
If you turn on the app lock, authentication is handled entirely by iOS. The app only learns whether authentication succeeded. It never has access to your face data, fingerprints, or passcode.
Exporting your data
If you use Export to CSV, the app creates spreadsheet files on your device. They are shared only where you choose to send them (for example, Files, Mail, or AirDrop). Once shared, they are subject to the policies of wherever you sent them.
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or data-collection SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites.
If you have opted in to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports and performance data. These do not include the financial information you enter in the app.
Deleting your data
- In the app: Settings → Data → Delete All Data removes all debts, expenses, and payments.
- Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device.
- iCloud data: if you used iCloud Sync, you can delete the app's iCloud data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage (or Manage Storage) → Slash That Debt.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Financial information disclaimer
Payoff plans, interest, and dates in the app are estimates based on the information you enter. The app does not provide financial advice.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the new version at this address. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
